Nyandarua Governor In Trouble After Impeachment Calls

A public petition seen by Kenyanvoice seeking County Assembly of Nyandarua to initiate proceedings to impeach Governor Kimemia is as follows.

PUBLIC PETITION PURSUANT TO STANDING ORDER PART XXIII (197)

Petition to the County Assembly of Nyandarua to initiate a process for impeachment of His Excellency Governor Francis Thuita Kimemia.

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED Residents of NYANDARUA County.

DRAW the attention of Nyandarua County Assembly to the following:
AWARE THAT Article 1 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, states that ALL sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya.

AWARE THAT Nyandarua County Assembly Standing Order Part XIV provides for process of removal of Governor from office.


THAT Excellency Governor Francis Thuita Kimemia has vehemently ignored to engage with Heath workers in Nyandarua County leading to suffering of patients across the County, and instead choose to priorities on erecting Christmas trees on major towns at allegedly exergerated and undisclosed costs.


THAT Excellency Governor Francis Thuita Kimemia allegedly gave contradictory statements about County Preparedness on war against COVID-19 putting residents on force sense of security, risking thousands of innocent lives.


AND THAT all matters in respect to this petition are not pending before any court of law, or constitutional or legal body.


WHEREFORE your humble petitioners PRAY that the Nyandarua County Assembly will initiate proceedings to Impeach Governor Francis Kimemia on the following grounds;
(a) gross violation of the Constitution;
(b) abuse of office or gross misconduct;
(c) physical or mental incapacity to perform the functions of office of county governor.


And your PETITIONERS will forever pray.
